In
1752, the marquise de Pompadour commissioned Cailleteau,
known as Lassurance, to build this mansion.
It was a charming house with a ground floor and a roof timber.
After her death in 1764, the house belonged to her brother,
the marquis de Marigny, who sold it to Louis XV.
The house became the "Hôtel du Gouvernement"
(Government House).
Turned into a prestigious hotel during the XIXth century
as the "Hôtel des Réservoirs",
it was then heightened.
The ground floor apartment partly keeps its genuine decor.
Outside visible. |
