Louis XV equipped the Saint-Louis district with a market, of which the Saint-Louis squares remain. Shops topped by a simple attic with a sloping roof make up
this unique XVIIIth century architectural complex. They surround four small
tree-lined squares : the Well square (Carré au Puits), the Fountain square
(Carré à la Fontaine) , the Oats square (Carré à l'Avoine), the Earth square
(Carré à la Terre)
.
